Nagpur police raid Kamgar Nagar house, rescue 19 cattle from alleged illegal slaughterhouse
Kapil Nagar police arrested one person and sent 19 bovines to the Dhantoli gaushala after a raid on an alleged illegal slaughterhouse.
Police raided a house in Kamgar Nagar, under the Kapil Nagar police station limits in Nagpur, on information that an illegal slaughterhouse was allegedly being run there. Nineteen bovines were recovered from the house and one accused was arrested.
The matter began when Kapil Nagar police received information during patrolling. The tip-off was that an illegal slaughterhouse was allegedly being run at the house of Mohammad Sabir Mohammad Washir Qureshi in Kamgar Nagar, and that a large number of bovines were being kept there.
Acting on this, a police team raided the house. On searching it, about 19 bovines were found tied up inside. According to the police, the animals were allegedly kept in very poor condition, without fodder or water.
Police rescued all the animals and sent them to the Dhantoli Gorakshan Kendra. One accused was arrested during the action.
A case has been registered at Kapil Nagar police station under the relevant sections. Police are now investigating where the bovines were brought from. They are also examining whether anyone else had a role in the case.
