Nagpur: Two POCSO cases reported against minors in Panchpaoli area

Nagpur police have booked two men under the POCSO Act in separate cases involving minor girls in the Panchpaoli area.

Two cases of sexual offences against minor girls have come to light in the Panchpaoli police station area of Nagpur. Police have registered cases under the POCSO Act and related sections in both matters and are investigating.

In the first case, action has been taken against Kunal Pal (24) following a complaint by a 17-year-old student. On July 15, as the student was returning home from college, the accused allegedly arrived on a motorcycle, threatened her with a knife and took her away. He is accused of forcing himself on her sexually. The accused also allegedly had obscene photographs of the student, which he used to pressure her. He is further accused of threatening her over phone calls and messages and pressuring her into marriage on September 24.

In the second case, a 14-year-old minor girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by Shridhar Ishwar Rajkatta (19) in April 2026 after he promised to marry her. The two had been introduced through a common friend. When the minor's health deteriorated, she was examined and found to be about five months pregnant. Her family learned of the matter afterward and filed a police complaint.

Panchpaoli police have registered cases under the POCSO Act and related sections in both matters and are searching for the accused.
