Nagpur man accused of attacking drunk, suspecting wife's character, injuring her eye in Imamwada
A woman suffered serious injuries around her eye in Nagpur's Imamwada after her husband allegedly assaulted her while drunk; police have registered a case.
A case of assault on a woman has come to light in Nagpur's Imamwada area. It is alleged that a man, drunk and suspicious of his wife's character, beat her and attacked her eye. The woman suffered serious injuries around the eye.
The incident is said to have taken place around 8 pm on Saturday. According to police, the accused husband frequently quarrelled with his wife over suspicions about her character. On Saturday night too, an argument began between the two over the same issue. The quarrel escalated quickly and the accused began beating his wife.
It is alleged that during this, the accused attacked the woman's eye, injuring her seriously, and tried to gouge it out.
Hearing the woman's screams, people from nearby and neighbours rushed to the spot. The accused then moved away. A neighbour took the injured woman to hospital immediately, where she was treated.
After the incident, the woman filed a complaint at Imamwada police station. Based on the complaint, police have registered a case against the husband and begun an investigation. Police are now looking into the cause of the incident and the role of the accused. No arrest has been mentioned.
