A tragic incident has come to light from Baba Deepsinghnagar under the jurisdiction of Kapilnagar police station in Nagpur. A 33-year-old man took his own life after being upset that his family's old car had been sold. The deceased has been identified as Aniket Rajendra Gajbhiye.

Aniket's father Rajendra owned an old Omni car bearing registration number MH-31-Z-7577. The car had not been in use for the past five to six years and had deteriorated while parked outside the house. Seeing the car lying unused, Rajendra eventually decided to sell it.

On Wednesday afternoon, a scrap dealer came to Rajendra's house to buy the car. The two negotiated and settled on a price of Rs 19,800. Rajendra took the money and handed over the car to the scrap dealer, who drove off with it shortly after.

Around 6:20 pm, Rajendra told his son Aniket that the car had been sold. According to police, Aniket became extremely upset on hearing this. It is alleged that in anger he threw his mother's mobile phone to the ground, breaking it, and then went into his room in a fury.

Aniket shut the door of his room from inside. A short while later, when his father went to call him, there was no response from inside. The family then forced the door open, and were shocked by what they found -- Aniket was hanging inside the room.

Family members immediately brought him down, but he had already died. On being informed of the incident, Kapilnagar police reached the spot and began the necessary procedures, including preparing the panchnama.

Police said Aniket had a somewhat short temper and was undergoing psychiatric treatment. However, police are investigating why he took this extreme step specifically after the car was sold.

Kapilnagar police have registered a case of accidental death for now. Statements of family members are being recorded, and police are investigating other aspects related to the incident.
