In Nagpur, money that devotees had put into a donation box during Ganeshotsav has gone missing along with the box itself. The case involves Shri Adarsh Bal Ganesh Mandal at Chandrashekhar Azad Chowk, where a watchman working for the mandal left with the donation box and never returned.

Mandal officials have filed a complaint about this at Lakadganj police station, asking police to investigate the matter and help recover the donation box and the money kept in it.

In the complaint given to police on September 23, the mandal said that on September 21, 2026, watchman Ganesh Raipurkar left the mandal premises with the donation box. He did not return after that. Mandal officials suspect that the donation box he took contained money put in by devotees.

The complaint states that the man's movements while leaving with the donation box were captured on CCTV camera. Mandal officials told police that they have CCTV footage of the incident and will hand it over to police if needed during the investigation.

Police now need to establish where the accused went after leaving the premises. Police are investigating the case on the basis of the CCTV footage that has come to light.

Mandal officials say the money that devotees put into the donation box out of devotion is considered the mandal's property. They have therefore demanded that police take immediate action following the disappearance of the donation box.

After the complaint was registered at Lakadganj police station, police are now investigating the case. The complaint has sought legal action against the accused and recovery of the donation box along with the money kept in it. Police are proceeding on the basis of the CCTV footage, the details given in the complaint, and questioning of people connected to the case.

It has not yet been established exactly how much money was in the donation box. The full picture of the case and the amount involved will become clear only once the police investigation is complete.
