Crime Branch Unit-5 has solved four house burglaries in Nagpur city. Police have arrested two accused and detained a minor. The investigation uncovered a total of four thefts in the Bhandewadi, Kapilnagar and Kalamna police station areas.

Acting on the accused's pointing out, police recovered stolen goods worth Rs 4,57,380. The haul includes gold and silver jewellery.

According to the information available, the case dates back to the night of August 12. That night, the lock and latch of a house in Sonbaji Nagar, under Bhandewadi police station limits, were broken and gold and silver jewellery and cash were stolen. Bhandewadi police registered a case following the complaint. Crime Branch Unit-5 was also investigating the same case in parallel.

Acting on a tip-off, police detained Mayur Nagdeve, Nilam Ansari and a minor and questioned them. According to police, the names of Amol Chafekar and Govind Sakhare emerged during the questioning. The two are alleged to have carried out four burglaries: two in the Bhandewadi area, one in Kapilnagar and one under Kalamna police station limits.

Police said questioning revealed that the stolen goods had been handed to the detained accused for sale. Stolen property worth Rs 4,57,380 in all, including gold and silver jewellery, was then recovered on the accused's pointing out.

The arrested accused have been handed over to the respective police stations for further legal action. Two accused described as absconding in the case are still being searched for.
