The Social Security Department of the Nagpur crime branch has taken action against 13 hotel and lodge operators in the city. All of them are accused of using OYO's brand name and logo without authorisation. FIRs have been registered at various police stations across the city in this matter.

The action began after a complaint by Narendra Suresh Kharve, nodal officer of OYO Hotels & Homes Private Limited. According to the complaint, these hotel operators misused OYO's trademark for commercial gain and earned money from it, even though no permission had been taken for this. Police also said these operators violated conditions laid down in the Nagpur police commissioner's circular related to hotels and lodges.

The hotels and lodges against which cases have been registered include Anand Inn in Hudkeshwar (operator Khushal Wadekar), Spot On Fakt Tu Ani Mi also in Hudkeshwar (operator Chetan Charde), SK Hari in Hudkeshwar (operator Prajwal Kamble), A.Y. Imperial and OYO Airport Imperial in Sonegaon (operator Aniket Kutarmare), OYO K2 in Wadi (operator Pawan Khobragade), Chandra Inn in MIDC (operator Sonu Mandal), Flagship The Way hotel in Sitabuldi (operator Saurabh Yadav), Cosroad Rooms in Imamwada (operator Rishabh Nandvanshi), O Kings Inn in Beltarodi (operator Mithilesh Sontakke), Highway Inn in Juni Kamathi (operator Akshay Waghmare), Continental Inn in Yashodhara Nagar (operator Yash Chahande), and Galaxy Stay Inn in Panchpavli (operator Rishiraj Chaukse).

Police said cases have been registered against these accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Trade Marks Act. The crime branch has begun further investigation in all the cases to determine the extent of the misuse of OYO's brand and any other violations involved.

ACP Vaibhav Jadhav of the Nagpur city crime branch gave details of the entire action.
