Masterchef Yogesh Kori set a record in Nagpur by preparing 55 different dishes in 60 minutes at an event by the Vidarbha Hotel Kamgar Sangathan.
Masterchef Yogesh Kori set a record in Nagpur on Tuesday by preparing 55 different dishes in just 60 minutes. The event was held at the HBT Hotel Restaurant on Patankar Chowk. It was organised by the Vidarbha Hotel Kamgar Sangathan to honour the hard work, skill and culinary talent of workers in the hotel and food business.
The occasion was the sixth foundation day of the organisation. Chefs, cooks and workers from the hotel industry attended, along with a large number of dignitaries.
The aim was to give a bigger platform to the talent of hotel and food sector employees and to bring their skill before society. A challenge was set to prepare a wide range of dishes in a fixed time. Kori accepted it and kept making different dishes for an hour without a break. In the end, 55 dishes were ready. In the record attempt, particular attention was paid to the variety of dishes, preparation within the set time and carrying out the whole process properly.
Office-bearers of the organisation said the tasty food served in hotels is the result of the hard work, long experience and creativity of chefs and cooks. Even so, they said, the talent of these workers often does not come to the fore on a large scale. For this reason, the organisation is trying to boost workers' morale through such events. According to the office-bearers, the hotel industry is not limited to serving food. The hotel and food business runs on the labour of chefs, cooks, service staff and other employees, and giving their skill a platform is among the organisation's priorities.
The organisation has raised issues concerning the interests of hotel workers over the past years. Efforts have also been made for the skill development and honouring of workers. By holding a record event on its foundation day, the organisation sent a message of giving workers' talent a distinct identity. The event also put forward the point that hotel workers can perform brilliantly if they get the right platform and opportunity.
Guests at the event praised the efforts of hotel workers and chefs. Many people from the hotel and food business, including Harshal Ramtek, were present. Those present included Nagpur City District Congress Committee president Praful Gudadhe Patil, MLA Abhijit Wanjari, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress general secretary and national spokesperson Atul Bhai Londhe Patil, Bunty Bhai Shelke and Abhijit Jha. Nagpur City District Congress Committee secretary and corporator Kamal Mukherjee and Manish Patil, a jury member of World Record India, were also present. Other dignitaries attended as well.
Office-bearers and workers of the Vidarbha Hotel Kamgar Sangathan played a key role in the event. The organisation said such events will be held in future so that hotel industry workers get more chances to show their talent and earn recognition. It thanked all workers, chefs, hotel operators and citizens connected with the hotel business, and appealed for support for such events in future.
