Three minors sexually exploited in Nagpur; cases under rape and POCSO filed in Wadi, Sakkardara, Sonegaon
Police have registered cases after a girl and a teenager were raped on the pretext of love and a schoolgirl was stalked and harassed.
Nagpur: A girl and a teenager have been raped after being lured with promises of love, in incidents under the Wadi and Sakkardara police station limits.
In the Wadi case, an 18-year-old victim befriended a 25-year-old man in May 2025. The two later entered a relationship. Though he knew she was a minor, the man forced her into a physical relationship. After she turned 18, he married her, but left her a few days later and also refused to live with her. The victim filed a complaint at Wadi police station. Police have registered a case under rape and POCSO provisions.
In the second case, a 14-year-old girl was ensnared by Sunil Jangade, 30. He lured her with a pretext of love and forced a physical relationship. He took the girl to Ahmedabad in Gujarat, where he pretended to marry her. Harassed by Sunil, the girl returned to Nagpur. Her health deteriorated after she came back. When her family took her to a medical facility, she was found to be pregnant. On the basis of the doctor's report, Sakkardara police have registered a case under rape and POCSO provisions.
Schoolgirl harassed on way to class
Harshal Wankhede, 50, used to follow a 15-year-old girl on her way to and from school and tuition. He made obscene gestures at the minor and made objectionable remarks. Distressed, she told her family. On a complaint by her grandmother, Sonegaon police have registered a case of molestation and under POCSO.
