Mysterious poster for Marathi film 'Mrityuchakra' unveiled, releasing October 23
The new poster for horror-thriller 'Mrityuchakra' hints at a battle between modern science and unseen forces behind death.
Birth and death are two truths no one can escape. Indian culture is said to view death not as an end but as part of a cycle: a person is reborn according to their karma, and liberation from this cycle of birth and death is moksha. The Marathi film 'Mrityuchakra', based on this deep theme, is set to release in theatres on October 23.
The film's new poster was recently released, and it is chilling to look at. The poster makes clear that the film will be a horror and mystery thriller. It is designed unusually, with a large ancient wheel at the centre showing a red moon or planet within it. Around the wheel are the faces of various people, each seeming to hide a different story. In the background is an old temple or mansion, and the entire atmosphere feels dark and frightening. A hospital scene is also shown in one corner. The poster carries the line "Behind every death is an invisible shadow", raising questions about what mysterious force lies behind death and what connection the hospital and the old temple share. The poster suggests the film will depict a conflict between modern science and old superstitions or unseen powers.
The film has been made by Shri Mahadev Film Production and Adhyansh Motion Pictures. Unmesh Waghmode is the producer, while Pranali Vilas Waghmode and Anuprita Kadu Gangawane have directed it. The story has been written by Dr. Sudhir Nikam, with the screenplay and dialogues also by Vilas Waghmode and Dr. Nikam. Rohan Shah is the creative producer. The film will be released across Maharashtra by Jayesh Mistry's UJM Networks and Entertainment. The camera has been handled by Nishant Bhagwat, and the editing is by Rahul Bhatankar. The music is by Kedar Divekar, the songs are written by Valay Mulgund, and sung by Suhas Sawant and Shamika Bhide.
The cast includes Shashank Shende, Akshaya Gurav, Pushkaraj Chirputkar, Aastad Kale, Varsha Dandale, Kritika Tulaskar, Sanika Banaraswale, Sanjay Shejwal, Shalaka Gade, Shara Gaikwad, Jitendra Pol and Anil Rabale, among others. The presence of accomplished actors such as Shashank Shende and Pushkaraj Chirputkar has heightened curiosity about the film. 'Mrityuchakra' is not just a scary film but is expected to comment on karma, destiny, rebirth and the mystery of human existence, blending fear, mystery and emotion. Fans of thrillers and horror films are advised to mark October 23 on their calendars.
