The 'Bhau Ka Garba' dandiya festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Mul, amid the spirit of Navratri, steps swaying to the beat of garba and a atmosphere steeped in cultural colour. It was organised by the late Changunabai Sachchidanand Mungantiwar Seva Samiti.

MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar was present at the event. On behalf of the residents of Mul, he welcomed the well-known actress Prarthana Behere to the land of tigers. On the occasion of Navratri, he extended greetings to the residents of Mul and congratulated the organisers for putting together the event so well.

Mungantiwar said he is happy to see the smiles on the faces of the people of Mul and the contentment in their hearts. He appealed that, in the name of Navratri, people take a pledge to honour women and to give every girl a safe environment.

He said Mul is the land of the great former Chief Minister Marotrao Kannamwar. The land, he said, has inherited a historic and cultural legacy. Among the districts that donated gold for the country during the India-China war, Chandrapur district's contribution is a matter of pride. Dedication to the country, social responsibility and respect for cultural traditions are the identity of this land, he said.

According to Mungantiwar, Navratri is not merely a religious festival. It is a sacred occasion that inspires respect for women along with the worship of shakti. The progress of the family, society and the country comes only from respecting women, so everyone should pledge to honour women this Navratri, he said.

He said women are the strong foundation of society's progress. Giving women respect and equal opportunities is the need of the hour. He appealed that respect for women should not remain limited to words but should be visible in our actions.

The 'Bhau Ka Garba' festival gave fresh lustre to Mul's cultural tradition. The event saw a fine blend of the zeal of garba, the joy of Navratri and the message of respect for women.

Actress Prarthana Behere said she is grateful to Sudhirbhau for giving her the chance to come to Mul and meet everyone. It is her first visit to Mul. When she went to Bhau's home, she was welcomed with great affection and warmth. She said Sudhirbhau has deep knowledge of many subjects and there is much to learn from him.

Behere also said that in today's times girls should step out of their homes fearlessly and move towards their dreams with full confidence. Ensuring girls' safety is not the responsibility of one person but the shared responsibility of the whole society. Giving girls a safe environment and instilling confidence in them is everyone's duty in society, she said.
