Motorola to launch 200MP flagship phone to rival Samsung, Apple
Motorola Signature 27, with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip and 200MP camera, will target the premium segment
Motorola is set to launch its new flagship 5G smartphone, the Motorola Signature 27. The company gave the first glimpse of the upcoming phone at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit. The phone will be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor.
The upcoming phone will be among the smartphones to feature Snapdragon's latest processor. It is being said that the company will launch the Motorola Signature 27 in the premium flagship segment, putting the device in direct competition with premium devices from brands such as Samsung, Apple and Xiaomi. Some of its specifications have already surfaced ahead of launch.
On specifications, the Motorola Signature 27 will come with a 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. To control the heat from such a powerful processor, the company has used a new ArcticMesh cooling system, which will include a diamond-infused thermal gel, liquid metal, copper mesh and a 3D vapour chamber. The company claims the phone's temperature will stay under control even during heavy tasks such as high-end gaming, AI processing and 8K video recording. On the rear panel, the company has used a clustered multi-sensor design instead of the traditional large camera bump.
The Signature 27 will also see a major upgrade on the camera front. The phone will have a 50MP Sony Lytia 910 primary camera along with a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. Through this camera setup, Motorola is preparing to directly challenge camera-centric premium smartphones.
In terms of design, the Signature 27 will see some changes from Motorola's current design language. The device has a textured finish and will be available in Pantone Coal Smoke and Pantone Capulet Green colours.
In a post shared from its official account on September 22, 2026, the company called this its most advanced smartphone yet, saying it has the company's best-ever camera system, that it is the only smartphone in the market with Bang and Olufsen audio, and that it will offer unprecedented speed thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme.
