The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority plans to let commuters book and pay for taxis, autos, shared autos and bike taxis on the Mumbai One app.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has decided to link Mumbai's autorickshaws, taxis, shared autos and bike taxis to its 'Mumbai One' app. Metropolitan Commissioner Dr Sanjay Mukherjee announced the move. Commuters who travel by these vehicles will soon be able to pay their fares through the same app.

Under an integrated ticketing system, the MMRDA has launched the 'Mumbai One Smart Card' and the 'Mumbai 1' app. The service has drawn a good response from commuters. In the year since the app was launched, more than 1.32 crore tickets have been bought on it, bringing in revenue of Rs 32 crore. At present, the app offers tickets for 11 services, including the Metro, BEST and the railways.

Taxis, autos, shared autos and bike taxis will also be bookable on the app, and fares can be paid there. Work on the necessary changes to the app has begun. The MMRDA plans to start the facility in the next six months. The authority has said the service is likely to be available within six months.

In the MMR, people travel by suburban railway, BEST, ST buses, Mono and Metro. Each of these requires a separate ticket for every journey, which costs commuters time and causes them inconvenience. Keeping this in view, the state government had decided to create the 'Mumbai 1 Smart Card'. The MMRDA was given full responsibility for the card.

The service was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 8, 2025. At present, the app works for Mumbai's six Metro lines, the Navi Mumbai Metro line, the suburban railway and BEST buses. Bus services of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Thane Municipal Corporation, Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation and Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation are also covered. In all, it is being used for 11 services.

The authority also plans to let commuters buy air tickets on the same app soon. The aim is to offer tickets for everything from travel within the city to air travel on a single app.
