MLA Kishor Jorgewar visited the sacred Deekshabhoomi on Dhammachakra Pravartan Din and paid his respects to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution and Bharat Ratna. It was said on the occasion that the ideas of equality, liberty, fraternity and justice that Babasaheb gave would continue to inspire society. An appeal was made that everyone adopt these ideas and contribute to building a just society founded on equality.

Dhammachakra Pravartan Din is regarded as an important day of social change in Indian history. On October 16, 1956, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar gave the initiation into Buddhist Dhamma at Deekshabhoomi in Chandrapur. The historic event gave fresh direction to social and ideological change in the country. Struggling against inequality, injustice and social discrimination, Babasaheb gave the message of humanism, equality and fraternity. It was said that carrying this legacy of his ideas to coming generations is everyone's responsibility.

Mr Jorgewar said he was committed to the all-round development of Deekshabhoomi and that development work would begin here soon. He said a large fund had been sanctioned for it. According to him, development here would be carried out in keeping with the expectations of the community.

A large pavilion was set up near the Agriculture Office to provide facilities for followers who had travelled from afar. Every year, lakhs of followers from different areas reach Deekshabhoomi in Chandrapur on Dhammachakra Pravartan Din. But as there are not full arrangements for the rest of such large numbers, they often face hardship. Given this problem, a demand had been made that arrangements be made for the followers' rest.

With this demand in mind, a large pavilion was put up by MLA Kishor Jorgewar near the Agriculture Office on the Deekshabhoomi premises, with arrangements for followers who had come from far away to rest. The aim was that followers coming to Deekshabhoomi would get a proper place to rest and their difficulties would be eased.

In addition, the Chandrapur city unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party distributed puri-sabzi. The initiative was taken so that followers coming to Deekshabhoomi, especially those who had come from afar, could get food.
