MG Motor India has launched a new special edition of its electric car Windsor in the Indian market. Called the MG Windsor Indulge Edition, it is priced at Rs 17,99,800 ex-showroom. The company has focused on the exterior design, cabin colours and the comfort of rear-seat passengers in this edition, which is aimed at buyers who want a stylish look along with a comfortable ride.
On the outside, the car comes in Shadow Gold with a contrasting black roof. Black ORVMs, 18-inch black alloy wheels and INDULGE badging on the C-pillar give it a distinct identity. Customers who want a look different from the standard model may like these changes.
The cabin gets new upholstery in Urban Tan and black. The front seat headrests carry INDULGE embroidery. The biggest attraction of the edition is the PRIVE screen for second-row passengers. Accessories include branded cushions, neck pillows, a rear sunshade, 3D floor mats, chrome grille accents and body-side moulding.
The battery and motor are unchanged. The Indulge Edition has the same 38 kWh battery pack as before. The electric motor produces 100 kW, or 136 PS, of power and 200 Nm of torque. According to the company's claim, the car has a certified range of up to 332 km on a full charge. The actual range can vary with driving style, speed, air-conditioner use and road conditions.
The edition is not available with the 52.9 kWh battery of the Windsor PRO, for which the company claims a range of up to 449 km. Buyers who prefer a longer range should keep the difference between the two versions in mind.
The 15.6-inch GRANDVIEW touchscreen and the Aero Lounge seats that recline up to 135 degrees, already available in the Windsor, are retained in this edition. According to the company, the Windsor has crossed 80,000 customers in 24 months. The Indulge Edition's appeal lies in comfort and a distinct look. Buyers should weigh the additional cost over the standard model against the features and their own needs. The on-road price may differ from city to city.
