The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, known for its distinct identity in the luxury car world, is coming to India with new updates. The 2026 model will launch in India on October 5. The facelift brings significant changes to the design, interior, technology and engines. Variant and price details for India are expected to be announced at the time of launch.

The company has added several features for rear-seat comfort this time. The Maybach S-Class's executive seats recline up to 43 degrees and come with heating, ventilation and massage functions. Where there was earlier a single tablet, rear passengers will now each get a separate smartphone-like controller, letting each person independently control seat, climate and entertainment settings.

This new model gets the MB.OS operating system for the first time. Fourth-generation MBUX, graphics exclusive to Maybach and an updated Zero Layer interface make it more modern. The dashboard features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.4-inch central screen and a 12.3-inch passenger display. The MBUX virtual assistant will also get generative AI functions.

In the facelift, the Maybach grille has been made about 20 percent larger, with an illuminated grille surround featuring straight chrome slats. In some markets, the star on the bonnet and the Maybach logo on the C-pillar will also light up. New star-shaped daytime running lights, 20 and 21-inch alloy wheels, and updated taillamps give the car a distinct look.

On engines, the S 580 gets a 4.0-litre M177 Evo V8 producing 537 hp and 750 Nm of torque. In some countries, the S 580e plug-in hybrid version has a 3.0-litre petrol engine, an electric motor and a 22 kWh battery, with a combined system output of 585 hp and an electric range of up to 98 km. The S 680 gets a 6.0-litre V12 engine in some markets, producing 630 hp and 900 Nm, while a 4.0-litre V8 option is also available in certain markets.
