Mumbai suburban rail commuters will face disruptions on Sunday, September 27, as megablocks are taken on several routes for engineering and maintenance work. The Central Railway main line and Harbour line will have blocks, while the Western Railway will have a jumbo block on the night of Saturday-Sunday. As a result, some locals will be cancelled, while others will be diverted to the slow or fast line.

On the Central Railway main line, a megablock will be in effect on the up and down fast lines between Matunga and Mulund from 11.05 am to 3.45 pm on Sunday. During this time, down fast locals leaving CSMT will be diverted to the down slow line at Matunga. These locals will halt at all stations between Matunga and Mulund. After that, fast locals heading towards Thane will be put back on the fast line from Mulund.

Up fast locals leaving Thane will be diverted to the up slow line at Mulund, which could make fast local journeys take longer than usual. Additionally, the local that used to leave Khopoli at 1.48 pm will now leave at 2.06 pm.

On the Harbour line, a megablock will be taken on the up and down lines between Kurla and Vashi from 11.10 am to 4.10 pm. During the block, down locals from CSMT to Vashi, Belapur and Panvel, and up locals from Panvel, Belapur and Vashi to CSMT, will be cancelled.

To ease passenger inconvenience, special locals will run between CSMT-Kurla and Panvel-Vashi during the block period. Meanwhile, local services on the Trans-Harbour and Uran lines will run as per their regular Sunday schedule.

On the Western Railway, there is also important information for passengers. A jumbo block will be in effect on the up and down slow lines between Vasai Road and Bhayandar from 12.30 am on Saturday, September 26, to 4.30 am on Sunday.

During this period, all slow line locals will be run on the fast line between Virar/Vasai Road and Borivali/Bhayandar, so these locals will skip some stations. Notably, no block will be taken on the Western Railway during the day on Sunday.

Due to the megablock, Central and Harbour line passengers will face changes from Sunday morning to afternoon. With some Harbour line locals cancelled, passengers will especially need to look at special locals and alternative routes. Commuters are advised to check the railway's latest timetable before leaving home and to allow extra time for their journey on September 27.
