Several Shiv Sena office-bearers from Mantha-Partur resigned ahead of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's Jalna visit, reportedly over district chief Asaram Borade's working style.
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is due to visit Jalna district tomorrow, Monday, November 11. During the visit he will celebrate Diwali with drought-hit farming families and learn about their problems. But as preparations for the visit were under way, several Shiv Sena office-bearers in the district submitted mass resignations.
The resignations are from the Mantha-Partur Assembly constituency. Many office-bearers of the party there, including the taluka chief, have quit their posts. According to available information, they decided to leave the party because they were unhappy with the working style of district chief Asaram Borade.
The office-bearers have alleged that they were not being given their due place while working in the party. It is also being said that one grievance behind the resignations is that the district chief holds party programmes by sidelining office-bearers.
Borade joined Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena after losing the 2024 Assembly election. He was then given the responsibility of district chief. It is being claimed that resentment within the party over his way of working has been growing. Against the backdrop of Shinde's Jalna visit, the mass resignations are now being discussed in political circles.
Meanwhile, in view of the drought situation in the state, Deputy Chief Minister Shinde will visit Jalna district. At the Shri Rameshwari Mahadev Sansthan in Maujpuri, he will interact with drought-affected farmers and hear their difficulties and hardships.
Earlier, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis celebrated Diwali with farming families at Lohari Savanga in Narkhed taluka of Nagpur district. Shinde too is now set to join the farmers in their joys and sorrows.
On one side are preparations to celebrate Diwali with farmers, and on the other, resignations by party office-bearers. Political circles are watching Shinde's Jalna visit between these two developments.
