A strange attempt to mislead police has come to light in the Hudkeshwar area of Nagpur. A man made seven to eight repeated calls to the emergency helpline Dial-112, claiming that his brother had stabbed him and that his life was in danger. But when police reached the spot, they found no evidence of any stabbing or attempt to murder.

The incident took place around 8 pm on September 18 in the Shri Krishna Nagar area, which falls under the jurisdiction of Hudkeshwar police station. According to police, 40-year-old Shyam Bhaurao Janorkar, a resident of the area, repeatedly called the emergency helpline making the shocking claim that his brother had attacked him with a knife.

As the matter appeared serious, Hudkeshwar police immediately sent a team to verify the facts. On the orders of Senior Police Inspector Anamika Mirzapure, sub-inspector Praveen Bakare, police personnel Ravidutt Tambe and Ashish, and beat marshal head constable Someshwar Bulbule reached the spot.

However, they found neither an injured person nor any signs of an incident. Janorkar could not give police any proper reason for making the repeated calls. Police said he gave evasive answers during questioning.

Police investigated on the spot but found no evidence to support the claims of a stabbing or attempted murder made in the emergency calls. The investigation revealed that this was a deliberate attempt to mislead the police machinery by giving false information through the emergency helpline.

Following the questioning, sub-inspector Praveen Bakare registered a case against Janorkar under Section 217 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on a complaint by head constable Someshwar Bulbule. Police have begun further legal proceedings in the matter.

The incident has also shown the consequences of misuse of the emergency response system, as repeated false calls can divert police personnel and resources from genuine emergencies.
