Mandar Jadhav begins shooting Zee Marathi serial Dhakatya Sunbai after Ambabai darshan in Kolhapur
The actor plays the lead, Vedant Patwardhan, and says the first episodes were shot in Kolhapur, including on the Panchganga river.
Actor Mandar Jadhav is now seen in the Zee Marathi serial 'Dhakatya Sunbai', in which he plays the lead role of Vedant Patwardhan. Mandar is working with Zee Marathi for the first time, and he spoke openly about his new journey and character.
According to Mandar, Vedant is an educated, well-mannered young man of today's generation. He loves his family from the heart, takes everyone along and respects everyone. One important trait is that he never tolerates injustice or oppression. If anyone is wronged in front of him, he stands firm. He does not back off even when standing up for what is right means going against his family. Mandar says every parent would like such a son and every girl would like such a life partner.
Mandar had long wanted to work with Zee Marathi, but for some reasons it had not worked out. The serial is produced by Kothare Vision, and Mandar has worked with Kothare Vision before. So when the call came for this serial, he said yes at once. There was a chance to work with Zee Marathi on one hand and to work again with Mahesh Kothare on the other. In Mandar's words, his happiness doubled.
He always tries to make each new character look different from the earlier ones, whether in look or body language. For Vedant he has changed himself physically. He goes to the gym every day, watches his diet and focuses on fitness. This showed in the promo and will be felt in the serial too. According to Mandar, his look and the promo are getting a good response from viewers.
On the atmosphere on the set, Mandar said all the artistes are very supportive and have had good chemistry from the start. Director Chandrakant Kanse is getting everyone to work very well. The pairing of Radhika and Vedant in particular is being liked by viewers.
The first few episodes of the serial were shot in Kolhapur. Mandar said that on the very first day he had darshan of Ambabai and began shooting after taking her blessings. The team then shot at various locations in Kolhapur. Many scenes were also filmed at the Ganga Ghat on the Panchganga river, and these will be seen in the early episodes. Vedant and Radhika's first meeting also takes place on the banks of this river.
When locals learnt of the shooting, a large crowd of well-wishers gathered. Mandar said meeting and talking to viewers directly is very special and it was a wonderful experience for him.
Mandar's first serial was Zee TV's 'Aladdin', in which he played the title role. He is now associated with the Zee family again. He thanked viewers from the heart and said their love inspires him to take up new characters. 'Dhakatya Sunbai' is aired on Zee Marathi at 6:30 pm.
