A home-made powder of makhana, white sesame and poppy seeds, taken in milk, is advised to support bones and ease knee and back pain.
Today's hectic lifestyle, heavy intake of junk food, little physical activity, a lack of essential nutrients and mental stress show their effect on the body early. When bone health begins to decline, people often pay no attention in the early days.
Bone pain, aching muscles or persistent swelling in the joints at a young age should not be ignored. It is important to get treatment on a doctor's advice in time. Bone problems worsen pain in the knees and legs. Foods rich in protein and calcium should therefore be part of the diet from the age of 30. To keep bones healthy, one should not depend on pills and medicines. Instead, drink this powder mixed in milk every day, which will help improve bone health.
Three ingredients are needed to make this nutrition powder: makhana (fox nuts), white sesame seeds and poppy seeds. First heat a pan and roast the makhana on a low flame. Roasting the makhana keeps the powder from spoiling quickly. Then roast the poppy seeds and the white sesame seeds separately in the same pan. Once all the roasted ingredients have cooled, put them in a mixer jar and grind them fine. Store the powder in a glass jar. Mix it into a glass of milk and drink it before going to bed at night or with breakfast in the morning.
White sesame seeds are very beneficial for the body. They contain a good deal of calcium, phosphorus and magnesium. They help increase calcium in the bones and strengthen them. They should be included in the diet to improve bone density. Poppy seeds contain 18 grams of protein and manganese. Makhana is also considered very beneficial in keeping bones strong. Milk, too, contains calcium and protein.
Some other additions to milk have also been suggested. Before bed, drink warm milk with a pinch of turmeric and dry ginger powder. Drinking milk daily with almond, dried date or walnut powder gives the body essential nourishment. To add a glow to the face, mix saffron and cardamom powder into warm milk. If digestion is upset, add ghee to cold milk. This keeps bowel movement regular and helps food digest easily.
