Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre organised a free health camp to mark World Heart Day 2026 and raise awareness about heart health. The camp was held in partnership with SEVA, the Service Quality for the Welfare of All organisation.
The camp was inaugurated by well-known personalities including Shaleen Bhanot, Rubel Nagi, Suchitra Krishnamurthy, Roopali Suri and Raju Singh. They extended their support to the initiative and encouraged others to join such welfare drives.
The event, held under the theme 'One Heart, One Life, Every Heartbeat Matters', saw participation from more than 1,500 people of all ages. Free physical check-ups were conducted, including cardiovascular tests, lipid profile tests and cholesterol screening. Those who needed further examination were given an electrocardiogram (ECG) and consultations with multi-specialty doctors. The hospital said such early screening could help save lives and underlined the importance of regular health check-ups.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajiv K. Mehta, Life Trustee of Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre, said the hospital is committed to building a healthy society through such social initiatives that have a long-term positive impact on people's lives. He said such camps reflect the hospital's continued focus on spreading awareness about preventive healthcare, and aim to encourage people to look after their heart health and take responsibility for their own wellbeing. According to Mehta, preventive check-ups and expert advice can help build a healthier society.
