Leopard spotted roaming in open near Chandbibi Mahal in Ahilyanagar, five feet from a car

A leopard was seen roaming in the open in the Chandbibi Mahal area of Ahilyanagar at about 6.30 pm on Tuesday. A passer-by photographed the animal immediately, which is how the sighting came to light. The leopard's presence in the open has created fear across the area.

Sunilsheth Kale walks in the Chandbibi area every evening. As usual, he was driving through the area in his car when he saw something emerge from the bushes. He slowed down and looked, and found a leopard in front of him. Kale said the leopard passed just five feet from his car.

Kale said he visits the Chandbibi area all the time, but nothing like this had happened there before. According to him, it was lucky he was in a car, or the leopard could have had a chance to attack. As soon as he saw the leopard, he quickly took photographs so that the administration could be informed.

He then went to his neighbourhood and told others that a leopard was roaming in the Chandbibi area. He urged people to be careful when passing through. It is said that the information will also be passed on to forest officials, so that the Forest Department can make some arrangements there.

As news of Kale's sighting spread, fear has taken hold among people. Those who walk regularly in the Chandbibi area are now wondering whether to go there at all. Because of this fear, people have demanded that the administration take immediate steps and put some arrangements in place in the area.
