Langur walks into Odisha mobile shop and hugs shopkeeper in viral CCTV video

A heartwarming video is going viral on social media. It shows an unusual meeting between a langur and a mobile shopkeeper. Viewers say the bond between human and animal shows how much even voiceless animals need love.

The video is from a mobile repair shop in Odisha. A langur suddenly walked into the shop. It had come neither to cause damage nor to look for food. It went straight to the shopkeeper sitting at the counter and sat in his lap. It then put its arms around his neck and hugged him tightly, as if he were a very old friend.

The young man was slightly startled when the langur came close. But he did nothing in response and sat calmly. Like a small child, the langur rested its head and chest against him and stayed still and silent for a few seconds. It neither hurt nor frightened anyone. It looked as if two friends had met after countless years.

The song "Lag Ja Gale" by Lata Mangeshkar has been added to the CCTV footage circulating online, which has increased interest in the video further. One user, posting it, wrote that the langur came to the mobile shop not to steal and not to make trouble, but only to hug.

Social media users have been deeply moved by the video. Many have called it "true love" and a "magic hug". Both the man's patience and the animal's innocence are being praised. In the video, another man in the shop is also seen running away in fear on seeing the langur.
