Raid on Lakadganj paan stall selling gutkha nets goods worth Rs 95,776
Nagpur police commissioner's escort team raided a Lakadganj paan stall and seized banned gutkha, paan masala and cigarettes worth over Rs 95,000.
The escort team of Nagpur Police Commissioner Vishwas Nangre Patil raided a paan stall in Lakadganj and caught the operator selling gutkha and paan masala. Goods worth Rs 95,776 were seized in the action.
API Bhagwan Koli of the escort team found during patrolling that banned gutkha and paan masala were being sold at Hira Paan Palace at Satnami Nagar Chowk. The team searched the stall with the help of Lakadganj police station's night officer Sonal Shinde.
Banned scented paan masala and gutkha worth Rs 89,146 were recovered from the spot. Banned cigarettes and Rs 16,630 in cash were also found.
A case has been registered at Lakadganj police station against stall operator Badal Motilal Katoke (25) of Bharatwada, Punapur, Pardi, on a complaint by a Food and Drug Administration officer.
