Lakhs of women in Maharashtra who benefit from the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana have an important update. The August Sanman Nidhi was recently credited to women's bank accounts. All eyes are now on when the Rs 1,500 for September will arrive. October has begun, and with the festival season on, women are increasingly eager to know the exact date the instalment will reach their accounts.

According to the latest information, the Rs 1,500 instalment for September is very likely to be sent to women's accounts in October itself. The state is currently in the mood of Navratri and Dussehra. In view of these festivals, it has emerged that the administration has begun preparations to distribute the money. It is estimated that after October 25 the Sanman Nidhi could be credited directly to the bank accounts of beneficiary women through DBT.

However, the date is only tentative for now. The government has so far made no official announcement. It will become clear on which day the money will arrive only when the administration gives an official date. Women should therefore not fall for any rumour spreading on social media and should wait for an official statement.

The August instalment began reaching eligible women's accounts in the last phase of September. By October 2, the Rs 1,500 for August had reached the accounts of most eligible women in the state. Since then, the September instalment has been awaited.

About 1.66 crore eligible women in Maharashtra are currently getting the direct benefit of the scheme. The money is sent directly to women's bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

With big festivals such as Navratri and Dussehra falling in October, a plan is being made to give the instalment before the festival. There are indications that the instalment will come after October 25, but an official government announcement will be crucial for the final decision. Until then, all beneficiary women are being urged to check whether their bank account is active. They should also check that the account's Aadhaar link and DBT status are in order, and verify their eligibility under the scheme in good time.
