Mumbai: The Maharashtra government launched the Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana to make women financially independent. After the August instalment reached their accounts, beneficiaries are now waiting for the September and October instalments. They are watching for when the next instalments will be credited.

Instalments under the scheme have appeared to be delayed for the past few months. With Diwali approaching, beneficiaries are discussing whether both months' instalments will be paid together.

Under the scheme, Rs 1,500 is credited every month to the bank accounts of eligible women. The assistance helps them meet household expenses and daily needs. If the September and October instalments are credited together, eligible women could receive Rs 3,000 in all. The amount could help with Diwali shopping and other household needs, which is why women expect to receive both months' money together.

However, the government has not yet announced any official decision on whether the two instalments will be paid together. As the September instalment has not yet reached accounts, women are looking to the government's next decision. It is being said that the instalment may be credited before Diwali, but the government has not yet said exactly when the money will be paid.

It had earlier emerged that the names of some women were removed from the beneficiary list during e-KYC and eligibility verification. The women concerned should therefore check their eligibility and the status of their bank accounts.

In short, if the instalments of Rs 1,500 for both months are credited together, the total will be Rs 3,000. But there is no official announcement on whether they will be paid together or when the money will reach accounts. A firm date therefore cannot be given for now.
