Lakadganj police raid gambling den of Javed alias Murga near Lakadapul, arrest two
Two men were caught gambling at the den run by Javed alias Murga in Nagpur; he and two others fled in the dark.
Nagpur: Lakadganj police have raided a gambling den run by Javed alias Murga, a notorious figure in the area near Lakadapul, and arrested two accused.
The den is run by Javed alias Murga, son of Mohammed Shukur, in the Dhivar locality of Lakadapul. He has reportedly operated it for years, just a few steps from the Crime Branch Unit 3 office. Action was taken there only occasionally, as a formality.
On the evening of September 30, Lakadganj police raided the spot and caught Sevak Ragmesh Chaudhari (30) and Ganesh Harish Dhande (20) gambling. Javed alias Murga, Rajesh alias Bhurya Karnuke and Khushal alias Mittu Paunikar fled under cover of darkness.
Lakadganj police have registered a case against the accused under the gambling prevention Act.
