Khandala taluka to hold revenue Lok Adalat on October 5 and December 7 to settle pending cases
Pending revenue claims and appeals in Khandala taluka can be settled by mutual consent at the Lok Adalats, part of a statewide campaign running to March 2027.
A revenue Lok Adalat will be held on October 5, 2026 and December 7, 2026 in Khandala taluka to settle pending revenue claims and appeals by mutual consent. It will be held at the Khandala tehsil office and at the circle officer offices in the taluka. Khandala Tehsildar Raviraj Jadhav gave the information.
According to Tehsildar Jadhav, the "Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Revenue Lok Adalat Abhiyan" is being run across the state from September 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027 under a Government Resolution of August 14, 2026 of the Revenue and Forest Department, Government of Maharashtra. Both Khandala dates are part of this campaign.
The campaign aims to settle the revenue department's pending quasi-judicial cases quickly, with the consent and compromise of both parties. This will save people time and money and reduce the burden of pending cases on revenue courts. In Khandala taluka, the event will be held under the guidance of Satara District Collector Santosh Patil and Wai Sub-Divisional Officer Dr Yogesh Kharmate.
The campaign covers various revenue claims and appeals pending in the revenue department's quasi-judicial courts. Cases pending before circle officers and tehsildars are also included.
If both parties agree to a compromise at the Lok Adalat, the pending revenue claim will be finally disposed of. Both parties or their lawyers can submit an application for settlement to the quasi-judicial court where the claim is pending. The application must be in the format of "Form A" provided with the Government Resolution.
After applications are received, they will be scrutinised and the consent of both parties will be confirmed. Then, as required, a legal settlement document (Consent Terms) will be taken from both parties. On the day fixed for the revenue Lok Adalat, a final order will be passed on the pending claim with the consent of both parties, and the matter will be considered closed for good.
People in Khandala taluka whose revenue claims or appeals are pending before the concerned quasi-judicial court, and whose parties wish to settle by mutual consent, should contact the Khandala tehsil office or the circle officer office in their area. The application must be accompanied by the following details and documents: the number and year of the pending claim or appeal, the names and phone numbers of both parties, brief details of the case, the necessary revenue documents, details of the lawyer if the application is made through one, and the clear consent of both parties to the settlement.
When revenue claims remain pending for long, parties lose both time and money. If a case is settled by mutual consent and compromise, the dispute is resolved quickly and the burden of pending cases on the quasi-judicial system also falls.
The campaign is running with the aim of "quick justice through compromise, saving people's time and money". Tehsildar Raviraj Jadhav has appealed to the people of Khandala taluka for their cooperation. People have been asked to complete the proceedings on time, with the necessary applications and documents.
