The investigation into the murder of Ketan Agarwal in Pune is progressing, with new information emerging at every step. It is alleged that Ketan's fiancée Siya Goyal and her lover Chetan Chaudhari conspired and pushed Ketan down from Lohagad fort. The police inquiry has now brought several matters into focus, from an alleged misconduct complaint against Chetan to the couple's stays in hotels.

According to the police investigation, Chetan Chaudhari was in touch with a young woman about a year before Ketan's murder. She alleges that Chetan tried to force himself on her. It is stated that on May 9, 2025, the woman, a friend of hers, the friend's boyfriend and Chetan went to a club to party. The four then stayed at a lodge, where Chetan and the woman went into a separate room. The woman's statement records that she told her friend what had happened the next day. The friend has also reportedly told the police that Chetan did this two or three times.

The investigation has also found that Siya and Chetan stayed at two different hotels in Pune before the murder. In November 2025, Chetan booked a room at a hotel on NIBM Road. According to the police, the two stayed in room number 304 at that time. In January 2026, the two stayed at another hotel in the Gultekdi area. The police are said to have seized copies of the identity documents submitted during both stays.

The police have also recorded the statement of a friend of Chetan. According to the friend, Chetan contacted him on June 22. Referring to an incident in Lonavala, Chetan asked whether the police could recover deleted WhatsApp and Instagram chats. In his statement to the police, the friend also claimed that Chetan asked whether he knew anyone in the crime branch or at a mobile company who could help. The friend says he replied that he knew no one of the kind.

The police have also combed through Siya's Google search history. It is reported that several keywords have been found that the police are linking to the alleged planning of the murder. These are said to include "Sonam case" and "death cap mushroom India", along with searches on how to delete iPhone call history and information on accidents during Lohagad visits and trekking.

The police are examining whether these searches have a direct connection to Ketan's death. They are also looking into whether an attempt was made to pass off Ketan Agarwal's death as an accident, whether Siya and Chetan had made any preparations in advance, and what more the digital evidence reveals.
