Kawasaki has launched a new version of its neo-retro motorcycle in the Indian market. The 2027 Kawasaki Z650RS has an ex-showroom price of Rs 7.83 lakh. The price and colour option remain the same as the previous version, with the bike available in Metallic Ocean Blue. There are no major changes to the design, cycle parts or features either.

The 2027 Kawasaki Z650RS is powered by a 649cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces 67.3bhp at 8,000rpm and 64Nm of torque at 6,700rpm. Torque is up by 1.9Nm compared to the previous model. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, and the bike gets 17-inch wheels at both ends.

On the riding and hardware front, the bike uses a high-tensile steel tubular diamond frame, with 41mm telescopic forks up front and a horizontal back-link suspension at the rear. It runs on a 120/70 section tyre at the front and a 160/60 section tyre at the rear. The wheelbase is 1,405mm, seat height is 800mm and ground clearance is 125mm. The bike weighs 179kg and has a 12-litre fuel tank.

For safety and tech features, braking duties are handled by dual 300mm discs at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear. Kawasaki's traction control system and ABS come as standard safety features. It also gets an assist and slipper clutch, an economical riding indicator, spoke-style cast wheels and a round LED headlamp.

Staying true to its neo-retro design identity, the round LED headlamp, dual-pod instrument cluster and flat rear profile give the Z650RS a distinct look. It gets a wide, flat handlebar for comfortable riding. In the Indian market, the bike will compete with motorcycles such as the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Triumph Trident 660.
