Kareena recalls night of Saif attack on Koffee With Karan, says she ran shouting on the road

Bollywood couple Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan appeared together on the new episode of "Koffee With Karan 9". The pair came to Karan Johar's show after a gap of 16 years, and spoke openly about several aspects of their personal lives.

The conversation touched on the knife attack on Saif Ali Khan at his home last year. Both described what actually happened that night, how frightened Kareena was and how the children took the incident.

Kareena became emotional recalling the night. She said, "I was trying to stop an auto-rickshaw on the road. I was shouting on the road. I was running like a mad person and blood was flowing from Saif's body." She said she did not sleep properly for about six months after the incident.

Kareena also spoke about the family's effort to get Saif to hospital. According to her, Saif could not even walk at that time. A knife was lodged near his spine, and doctors had to operate to remove it. Kareena said she was completely shattered by all this, but Saif tried to keep himself calm.

The incident took place on January 16, 2025. An intruder entered the home of Saif and Kareena and held the domestic help hostage. When Saif tried to intervene, a scuffle broke out between the two, and the attacker stabbed Saif with a knife. The injured Saif was taken immediately to hospital in an auto-rickshaw, where he underwent surgery lasting about six hours.

Mumbai Police arrested the accused, Mohammad Shariful, three days after the incident. The accused had made a second attempt to confess to the crime, which the court rejected. The trial then began. It started last month.

The mood of the episode was not only serious. Saif, Kareena and Karan Johar shared plenty of banter on the issue of nepotism. After winning a segment, Saif joked that it proved there was no nepotism or favouritism on Karan's show.

Karan responded by pointing to Kareena and citing her as an example. Kareena replied in jest, "I am the purest poster girl of nepotism. I am the most natural talent of nepotism. I never even mentioned my mom and dad." Karan and Saif both burst out laughing at her reply.
