Nagpur hookah parlour run behind locked door, owner and manager booked; 13 caught
Sitabuldi police booked the operator and manager of The Fusion Cafe after a raid found 13 youths smoking hookah behind a padlocked door.
Nagpur: A case has been registered against Mayank Agrawal, operator of The Fusion Cafe, and its manager Vikrant Shinde for running a hookah parlour inside the cafe with the door locked from outside.
Agrawal runs the Fusion Hookah Parlour in Dharampeth, where banned hookah was being served. Sitabuldi police raided the parlour on the night of October 2. A lock hung on the door, but youths were smoking hookah inside. The parlour had been made to look closed from outside to evade the police.
After considerable effort, the police broke down the door and entered. They caught 13 young men and women smoking hookah. Hookah pots, tobacco products and other items worth about Rs 50,000 were seized.
The Fusion Cafe and its operator have been in the news on several earlier occasions, and cases have been registered against him before.
