Ameya Deepak Joshi, who worked in Pune, died on the spot; his wedding had been fixed for December 5.
A young man from Kagal taluka in Kolhapur district died in a two-wheeler accident on Diwali while travelling home from Pune. The deceased has been identified as Ameya Deepak Joshi, 32, who lived in the Murgud Naka area of Kagal.
According to the information available, Joshi worked for a private company in Pune. He had set out from Pune for Kagal on his two-wheeler to celebrate Diwali with his parents and family. At the toll plaza near Umbraj, his vehicle suddenly rammed into the barrier bar there.
The impact was so severe that the helmet on his head was completely shattered. He died on the spot.
The loss has hit the family harder because Joshi's wedding was fixed for December 5, barely a month away. Everyone at home was excited about the wedding and preparations were in full swing. Invitation cards had been printed and were being distributed to relatives, the hall had been booked, and the shopping was in its final stage.
The house where wedding music was to play in a few days is now in mourning. The accident, which happened on the day of Diwali itself, has shattered the Joshi family's happiness. A wave of grief has swept Kagal town, and people everywhere are expressing sorrow.
Joshi is survived by his mother, father, brother and uncle.
