Two arrested for theft of elderly woman's jewellery in Nagpur
Sitabuldi police arrested two men and recovered Rs 2.54 lakh in cash, jewellery and other property linked to the theft.
Nagpur: Acting on a theft case reported in the Sitabuldi police station area, police have arrested two accused. Police seized a vehicle, cash, mobile phones, bank documents and other material from the accused, together worth Rs 2 lakh 54 thousand 300.
According to police, those arrested in the case are Sheikh Shahrukh Sheikh Kaleem (about 30), a resident of New MHADA, Uppalwadi, Kamptee Road, Kapil Nagar, Nagpur, and Usman Akbar Khan (about 35), also a resident of New MHADA, Uppalwadi, Kamptee Road, Kapil Nagar, Nagpur.
The action was carried out under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Dr Vishwas Nangare Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police Navinchandra Reddy, Additional Commissioner of Police (North Zone) Vinita Sahu, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Annapurna Singh, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Sunilsingh Pawar.
Under the guidance of Sitabuldi Senior Police Inspector Suhas Raut and Crime Branch Police Inspector Manish Kolhatkar, a police team led by sub-inspector Sham Waghe traced and arrested the accused.
Head constable Nandkishor Walde, and constables Shatrughna Munde, Prashant Bhoyar, Chetan Shende, Naimish Talwar and Sachin Bhoyar played key roles in the operation.
Police have registered the case under relevant sections. Investigation is continuing into the recovered property and other aspects of the case.
