Janhavi Killekar defends Bisleri remark, says Kolhapur water is good and she will not apologise
After being trolled for saying she bathes in Bisleri water in Kolhapur, the actress shared a video citing skin problems and said she has said nothing wrong.
Actress Janhavi Killekar is in the news for a statement in which she said that when she goes to Kolhapur, she bathes in Bisleri water. The remark drew heavy criticism on social media. She has now shared a video putting forward her side and showing pictures of her skin problems.
In the video, Killekar expressed anger over the trolling. She said it was not right to insult a woman to gain a few views, likes and followers. "Humanity is declining in our society. To get a few more views and likes, you can insult a woman as much as you like, and it is accepted. To all those who have made videos in my name, a heartfelt thank you," she said.
On the Bisleri controversy, she said: "You only watch a reel, which is 30 seconds or 60 seconds long. That is half the truth. For this, you will have to watch the whole podcast. Because in that podcast I have clearly said that whenever I go anywhere on an outdoor shoot, I have to do these things."
She explained her skin problem in detail. According to her, in 2019-20 she was staying at a location outside Mumbai during the shooting of a serial, and the trouble began then. "I was staying at a place outside Mumbai for the outdoor shoot of a serial. A month passed there. I had gone for that shoot with good skin. But within a month my whole face was covered with pimples," she said.
Killekar said she then sought treatment and consulted local doctors there. The doctors said the skin problem could be due to the water. According to her, they told her that the water there did not suit her.
She also said such trouble can affect anyone, not just celebrities. "Sometimes the water there does not suit us. This is the truth. It does not apply only to celebrities or actresses, it applies to everyone. I speak very frankly, and that is my problem," she said. Showing pictures of her skin, she said she had tried to hide the blemishes and pimples with make-up in that period, but it did not help much.
Killekar claimed that after this problem she spent a large sum on skin treatment. "Since then I have spent lakhs of rupees on my skin. I could not afford it, but still. Why? Because I am an actress and I have to look good, which is why I do these things," she said. On the question raised over Bisleri, she asked: "How much does a Bisleri bottle cost? Rs 60-70? That bottle is available for Rs 50. What is so expensive and extravagant that I have done in this?"
She said her words were being misinterpreted. According to her, she did not say anything bad about Kolhapur's water. "As for Kolhapur's water, Kolhapur's water is good. I have said this in that video too," she said.
At the end of the video, she said she was ready to apologise if proved wrong. "Most importantly, I have not said anything wrong. If I had said something wrong, I am ready to fall at the feet of all of Kolhapur and all of Maharashtra and apologise. That much is my strength. But I have not said a single sentence wrong," she said.
She added: "I am also Maharaj's daughter. So I will break but I will not bend. If I have said something wrong, I will apologise 100 times. But if I am not wrong, then sorry boss, I will not apologise." She concluded: "I will pray to the Kolhapur Aai that she gives you good sense."
