Man out on bail in POCSO case harasses and threatens minor in Nagpur, booked again
A 21-year-old granted bail about a month ago in a sexual assault case has been booked again under POCSO for harassing and threatening the same 17-year-old girl.
A young man released on bail after being accused of sexually abusing a minor has been booked again for harassing and threatening her, police said. The incident took place under the Jaripatka police station limits.
The victim, a 17-year-old girl, had come to know Samyak Bagde (21), a resident of MHADA Quarters, Nari Road, through social media. He forced her into a physical relationship.
A case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act had already been registered against Samyak at Jaripatka police station. He was granted bail in that case about a month ago. Even so, he did not stop.
According to the minor's complaint, after coming out on bail Samyak began harassing her again with phone calls and messages. He sent her obscene messages and threatened to kill her family members.
On the night of September 29, Samyak turned up in front of the girl's house. On seeing him, she told her mother, who came out of the house. Samyak abused the mother and fled.
Jaripatka police have registered a fresh case under POCSO on the minor's complaint. The accused's audacity has raised questions about the girl's safety. The girl and her family are living in fear.
