International Translation Day is observed on September 30 every year. The day honours translators, interpreters and philologists around the world. It also aims to highlight the importance of translation.

Translators make it easier to exchange literature, knowledge and ideas across languages. They connect different cultures and communities. This builds dialogue, mutual understanding and cooperation across the world.

The aim of the day is to spread knowledge by removing language barriers through translation. Translators play a vital role in many fields, including education, science, technology, trade, the arts and politics. Through translation, people respect one another's languages, cultures and traditions, and solidarity grows in the world.
