Telecom infrastructure company Indus Towers Limited has reached a major milestone through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes. Its two flagship CSR initiatives, Saksham and Pragati, directly and positively impacted the lives of 3,38,80,000 people in financial year 2026. This has taken the company's total number of beneficiaries so far to nearly 9 crore.
The company says that while digital infrastructure connects millions of people, real progress lies in everyone getting equal opportunity. Its initiatives are run with the idea that everyone, regardless of geographic location, gender or socio-economic background, should get the skills, opportunities and resources needed to participate in India's development.
The core of these initiatives is to empower communities by providing digital skills, education, healthcare, employment opportunities and sustainable infrastructure. The company works with local people, government machinery, implementation partners and beneficiary groups to identify their exact needs and design solutions accordingly, with the aim of creating a lasting sense of belonging in communities.
Speaking on the occasion, Indus Towers Limited Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Prachur Sah said India's development journey would truly be transformative only when everyone is included in it. "At Indus Towers, we believe that sustainable progress begins with equality of opportunity, meaning everyone should get the same opportunities, resources and support to fully develop their potential. Through our CSR programmes, we are empowering communities with knowledge, skills and opportunities so that they can genuinely participate in India's economic and social progress," he said.
Sah also said the company wants to create this kind of lasting impact by working with communities, implementation partners and government bodies, which will increase resilience, ensure everyone is included, and contribute to the country's progress.
These initiatives are aligned with major government schemes such as Digital India, the Skill India Mission, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, the National Education Policy 2020, PM eVidya and the Aspirational Districts Programme, and also contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
In recent years, the company has run several initiatives to address key development challenges in backward areas of the country. It has a long-term goal of positively impacting the lives of about 15 crore people by 2030. Backed by its extensive tower network across the country, its use of technology and its understanding of local conditions, the company intends to continue its work in digital inclusion, human resource development, environmental conservation, women's empowerment and equitable economic development.
