The cause of Hollywood actress Hayden Panettiere's death has finally come to light. A coroner's report has stated that she died from the combined toxic effects of fentanyl and several other substances. The death has been officially declared accidental.

The 36 year old Hayden was found unresponsive on August 16 at an apartment in Greenville, South Carolina, in the United States. An emergency call was made from her apartment the same day. A medical team that reached the scene worked on her for a long time and carried out life saving procedures, but she could not be saved. During the investigation no injury that could have caused death was found on her body, meaning no evidence of external injury was found in the inquiry.

According to the coroner's report, along with fentanyl, Hayden's body also contained 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol and quetiapine. The investigation found that the combined toxic effect of all these substances caused her death. Alprazolam is a medicine used to reduce anxiety, while methocarbamol is used for muscle strain. The report notes that the presence of these two medicines along with the other substances in the body together caused the death.

Hayden Panettiere began her career as a child actor and went on to build a distinct place for herself in Hollywood. She gained major recognition for her role as Claire Bennet in the series 'Heroes', while her role as Juliette Barnes in 'Nashville' was also an important milestone in her career. She also worked in the films 'Remember the Titans' and 'Scream 4'. Her other work includes the films 'Racing Stripes', 'Ice Princess', 'Bring It On: All or Nothing', 'Shanghai Kiss', 'I Love You, Beth Cooper', 'Custody', 'Scream VI', 'A Breed Apart' and 'Sleepwalker'. On television she also had roles in the series 'One Life to Live', 'Guiding Light' and 'Malcolm in the Middle'. She appeared as herself in the dolphin conservation documentary 'The Cove', while she provided the voice and motion capture for the character Samantha in the video game 'Until Dawn'.

Her sudden death was mourned by fans and the entertainment industry. The coroner's report has now clarified the medical cause of her death, and the death has officially been recorded as accidental.
