Opponents accuse government of changing law to seize control of Gokul after election
Opponents allege the government has amended the law with Gokul in mind, after the election result went against it.
Opponents have levelled serious allegations against the government over a change in the law after the Gokul election. They say the government has brought the law with Gokul at its centre, and that among cooperative institutions it will apply only to the Federal Institute, Gokul and two other bodies.
According to the opponents, the government wants power in Gokul and is rejecting the people's verdict. They say yesterday will go down in history as a black day. The households of five and a half lakh farmers depend on the institution, and 20 lakh litres of milk is collected every day. Rahul Gandhi has tweeted in their support.
It is alleged that Hasan Mushrif and Chandrakant Patil took the initiative to get the decision to change the law made. Not a word was spoken on it at the Cabinet meeting.
The opponents say the election was held, votes were cast and the result came. Because the result did not go in its favour, changing the law now is wrong.
