Man killed in Nagpur to stop him testifying in court; one held
A 32-year-old man was stabbed by a relative over an old feud and died at Mayo Hospital, and police have arrested one accused.
Nagpur: A young man was murdered by his own relatives to stop him from giving evidence in court, over an old enmity. The incident took place under Wadi police station limits.
The deceased is Sachin Deepak Bhurani (32) of Pardsinga, Narkhed. Police have arrested Sagar Jagdish Chandrawat (24) of Selu, Wardha. Sachin's father and the accused Sagar's father are relatives.
In 2023, Sagar, his father and his brother Jaydesh had attacked Sachin's uncle, Dheeraj Chavan. Police had subsequently externed all three. The accused would abuse and threaten Sachin and his family members when they passed through the village. Sachin is said to have been a witness in that case, and the accused suspected that his testimony would add to their trouble.
On the afternoon of September 27, Sachin went to Balaji Ayurved on Amravati Road to buy medicine. Sagar was following him and attacked him, striking him on the chest and neck and seriously injuring him. Sachin had since been undergoing treatment at Mayo Hospital. He died on Tuesday.
