India's largest solar model ecosystem is taking shape in Nagpur. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said Nagpur would become a hub of the solar ecosystem over the next 10 years, and urged entrepreneurs to invest heavily in the sector.

The Chief Minister visited the Avaada Group's facility in the Additional Butibori industrial area and reviewed work on the solar model being built there. He then held talks with entrepreneurs, during which Avaada Group founder and chairman Vineet Mittal also met him separately.

During the visit, Fadnavis discussed infrastructure, industrial development in the state and upcoming changes in Mumbai with entrepreneurs. On the new Nagpur project, the Chief Minister said a complete ecosystem for smart industry was being developed there. He said more than 50 percent of the land needed for the project had already been allocated and investment was growing. The country's first solar model is being built in Additional Butibori itself. The Chief Minister announced that the Avaada Group would be given 250 acres of land it had sought to expand its project.

The Chief Minister also said the land acquired for industries in the Additional Butibori area had now run out, making it necessary to set up a third Additional Butibori industrial area. Work has also begun to acquire land for a new industrial area in Wardha district. He said Avaada was the largest company making solar models, producing smart modules through advanced integration. The project has progressed rapidly since its foundation stone was laid, and around 5,000 workers are currently employed there.

On better facilities for private aircraft at Mumbai airport, the Chief Minister assured entrepreneurs that a solution would be found in consultation with development and related agencies. On making Mumbai slum-free, he said that under cluster development, residents were either being given alternative housing or paid three years' rent to vacate the land. He expressed confidence that Mumbai would become slum-free within the next 10 years.

Speaking with entrepreneurs, Fadnavis said the steel industry was also being promoted and efforts were on to provide cheaper electricity to industries. He expressed confidence that industries would start getting cheaper power by 2029. Work is also underway on solar battery storage to ensure round-the-clock power supply so that industries do not face electricity shortages. He said Gadchiroli district was emerging as a new steel city, having attracted investment of around Rs 4 lakh crore. A memorandum of understanding has also been signed with a Belgian company to produce green steel in Gadchiroli. He said the Samruddhi Mahamarg was bringing essential facilities to backward regions of the state, and that Vadhavan Port, along with JNPT, would be among the world's top 10 ports.
