Police have arrested an externed criminal who created a ruckus at Ballarpur's rural hospital around midnight. The accused, Yogesh Shankar Yerol, 25, a resident of Ravindra Nagar ward in Ballarpur, had been externed from Chandrapur district for one year but returned to the city in defiance of the order and got into a confrontation with doctors after entering the hospital.

To curb Yogesh Yerol's history of criminal activity on police record, the Superintendent of Police, Chandrapur, had on May 18, 2026 ordered his externment from the district for one year under Section 55 of the Maharashtra Police Act. In compliance with the order, he was dropped off at Janakpur in Asifabad district, Telangana, on May 23, 2026. However, the accused defied the Superintendent of Police's order and re-entered the city without any prior permission.

Around midnight on Saturday, Yogesh Yerol suddenly entered Ballarpur's rural hospital and created a ruckus, arguing with the doctors on duty. Police on patrol were alerted through Dial 112. Given the seriousness of the matter, Police Sub-Inspector Umesh Jogdand rushed to the hospital along with fellow police personnel Satyawan Kotnake, Pankaj Shinde, Sachin Allewar, Sandeep There and Shantkumar Ghose, and two panch witnesses.

As soon as the police team reached the hospital, Yogesh Yerol was found roaming the premises in a suspicious state. The team surrounded and apprehended him without delay. When questioned about his presence in the district, he had no valid reason or permission. With the violation of the externment order established, a case was registered against the accused at Ballarshah police station under Section 142 of the Maharashtra Police Act, based on the complaint filed by Police Sub-Inspector Umesh Jogdand.

Police Constable Satyawan Kotnake is further investigating the case under the supervision of Police Inspector Bipin Ingle. The incident at the government hospital at night briefly created a sense of fear among the staff there, but prompt police action prevented any bigger incident.
