Former Army officer and ex-ADC to President Droupadi Murmu has launched a paid Instagram subscription earning an estimated Rs 6 lakh a month
It is hard to say who will become the talk of social media, and when. These days former Indian Army officer and former ADC to President Droupadi Murmu, Major Rishabh Singh Sambyal, is drawing plenty of attention. The reason is an interesting one: Major Rishabh has started a paid subscription model on his Instagram account, through which he charges his followers a fixed monthly fee.
About 23 lakh users follow Rishabh Singh Sambyal on Instagram. Of these, 3,096 people have taken his paid subscription. The subscription fee is Rs 180 a month for Android users and Rs 199 a month for iPhone users. Based on this, his monthly earnings are being estimated to run into lakhs. While many see it as a new career path after his Army service, others are questioning an officer with a military background charging money in this way.
Major Rishabh Singh Sambyal served in the Indian Army for about 12 years. He served in the Jat Regiment and had also volunteered for 4 Para Special Forces. When he appeared at government events as ADC to President Droupadi Murmu, who holds the country's highest office, people became fans of his personality. His popularity on social media grew so much that many users even called him a national crush.
After taking voluntary retirement from the Army ahead of schedule in August 2026, he entered the world of digital content creation. While in the Army, his reels on fitness, Army life and struggle were liked by lakhs of people. He has now chosen to monetise that strong fan following, which is why it is being widely discussed. He recently appeared on Raj Shamani's podcast as well, where he shared several interesting details about the ADC post.
Since the paid subscription on Instagram began, Rishabh Singh Sambyal's earnings have been the subject of estimates. According to platform data and third-party analytics, he currently has 3,096 active subscribers. The fee is Rs 180 a month for Android users and Rs 199 a month for iPhone users. Before platform taxes and deductions, his initial monthly earnings are estimated to be between about Rs 5.97 lakh and Rs 6.06 lakh. Subscribers get access to exclusive posts, reels, secret updates and a chance for direct interaction.
When the news spread on social media that a former Army officer was charging money to show his reels and posts, two different reactions emerged. Some called it a downgrade, saying it went against the dignity and prestige of the Army, and that an officer who wore the uniform for the country should not turn commercial in this way. His supporters, on the other hand, say that after retiring from the Army, he has, like any citizen, every right to earn a livelihood and choose a new career.
