Indian electric two-wheeler company e SPRINTO has launched its G1 electric scooter. It is the company's first family electric scooter and has been introduced for ordinary customers. The starting ex-showroom price is Rs 89,999, and it will be available in three battery options. The company claims a range of up to 130 km.

Until now, e SPRINTO focused on supplying electric vehicles to commercial customers and fleet operators. With the G1, the company has formally entered the B2C (business to consumer) market, and says it is now ready to meet the needs of ordinary customers and Indian families.

According to the company, the scooter was built after about two years of research, development and customer surveys. Its design keeps in mind daily commuting, errands in the market and general city use.

The price varies with battery capacity and range. The 2.0 kWh variant costs Rs 89,999 ex-showroom and has a claimed range of 80 km. The 2.5 kWh variant costs Rs 94,999, with a stated range of 100 km. The 3.0 kWh variant costs Rs 99,999 and has a range of up to 130 km.

All these are ex-showroom prices in Delhi. In other cities, the on-road price may differ depending on insurance, registration and applicable charges. The company says the actual range will depend on road conditions, speed, load and riding style.

The scooter has three riding modes. The speed is 30 km/h in Eco mode, 40 km/h in City mode and 50 km/h in Sport mode.

The scooter can carry a load of up to 150 kg. It has a ground clearance of 165 mm, meant for rough roads and varying conditions. It also gets 12-inch tubeless tyres, a battery with an IP67 rating, a combi braking system and a digital display. Navigation will be available through an optional subscription.

The IP67 rating helps protect the battery from dust and water. It does not mean the scooter can be ridden submerged in water.

The scooter will come in four colours: Charcoal Black, Slate Grey, Horizon Blue and Pine Green. Interested customers can register an inquiry on the company's official website. According to the company's plan, deliveries will begin on January 1, 2027.

According to e SPRINTO co-founder Shalu Gupta, the company's experience in the B2B business made clear how important after-sales service and the availability of spare parts are. The company says more than 70,000 of its vehicles are on the road.

Co-founder Atul Gupta said the company has three production centres and an annual production capacity of 1.5 lakh units. Relying on this capacity, the company will focus on expanding its sales, service, spare parts and dealership network.
