Ducati Multistrada V4: 170hp adventure bike starts at $19,995
Ducati's Multistrada V4 packs a 170hp V4 engine and adjustable ergonomics for both city rides and long tours.
New bikes keep arriving in the two-wheeler market, and the trend is increasingly toward a single bike that can handle everything from daily city commutes to long-distance touring and off-road riding. This has kept demand strong for adventure bikes. In this category, the Ducati Multistrada V4 stands out as an all-rounder.
The bike is powered by a 1,158cc liquid-cooled, 90-degree V4 Granturismo engine that produces 170 horsepower and 91 lb-ft of torque. The engine is tuned to keep power delivery under control across the range, from slow city speeds to highway cruising.
On the hardware side, the bike gets an aluminium monocoque frame, Marzocchi suspension and Brembo brakes, with 320mm dual discs at the front and a 280mm disc at the rear. Tubeless tyres, 19-inch at the front and 17-inch at the rear, give the bike good grip on both paved roads and rough terrain.
To make long rides more comfortable, the Multistrada V4's seat height can be adjusted from 33.1 to 33.9 inches. It also gets a tall windscreen and an upright riding position to reduce rider fatigue on long journeys. The suspension includes an automatic fast-lowering feature that lowers the bike slightly on its own when coming to a stop.
The ADV bike is not lacking on technology either. It comes with multiple riding modes, power modes, cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, cornering lights and vehicle hold control. It also gets a 5-inch TFT display, smartphone connectivity, a quickshifter and cruise control.
The Ducati Multistrada V4 starts at $19,995. The more premium V4 S variant is priced at $29,995 and adds more advanced features such as electronic suspension, radar-assisted adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection and a 6.5-inch TFT display.
