Do not follow blindly, be a speaker yourself: Rishi Pathak tells Nagpur youth
Composer Rishi Pathak, riding the success of Hanuman Ansh's music, urges Nagpur youth to find their own voice and roots
This is a country where everyone has the right to speak their mind, so instead of blindly following someone else, one should become a speaker oneself. This was said by lyricist and composer Rishi Pathak during a visit to Nagpur. Pathak is currently in the news after the music of the film "Hanuman Ansh" met with tremendous success.
Pathak said that while the visuals in cinema tell the story, the emotion and depth in it come from the music and words. He said the songs of "Hanuman Ansh" brought together story, devotion and feeling in a way that is rarely found.
His work on the film was not limited to music alone. From the start, he also took on the responsibility of line producer. He had a direct hand in three of the film's main songs. He composed the famous bhajan "Vaishnav Jan" in his own distinct style, co-wrote the song "Jai Hanuman", and both wrote and arranged the music for the song "Ram Bhajan Ki Ore" himself.
Speaking about this success, Pathak said he worked with full dedication and devotion, and whatever success came his way, he offered it wholeheartedly at the feet of God. He said this is why he has now risen above the distinction between success and failure. The film's producer, Vishal, said that even in difficult circumstances, victory has come only through faith and devotion.
Discussing the composition of the songs, Pathak said their lyrics are very simple and direct, yet they touch the heart, which is why people are able to connect with them. The music makes good use of traditional instruments alongside modern and classical stringed instruments such as the guitar and mandolin. Dhirendra Mulkalwar, Shantanu Sudame, Abhijeet Satpathy, Ishaan Sharma and Nivedita Padmanabhan also made important contributions to the project. Pathak said that among all the songs, the one he personally likes the most is "Parvati", written by Sadhu Tiwari.
Addressing his message to young people, Pathak said that before looking at the world outside, youth should understand their own rich culture and their roots. According to him, the solution to every difficulty in life lies hidden in our own culture, and in the end that is where we must return. He said this very purpose has been fulfilled by the film "Hanuman Ansh", and it has brought about a new cultural awareness among people. Pathak said that people have now started saying "Sitaram" instead of "Hello". He linked this major change to the building of the "Ram Setu", saying his own contribution to it is like that of a small squirrel.
