Disha Salian's father to serve defamation notice on Aaditya Thackeray
Satish Salian will go to the Thackeray residence Matoshree to serve a defamation notice on Aaditya Thackeray over a social media post.
A major update has emerged in the Disha Salian case. According to information, Disha Salian's father Satish Salian is set to go to the Thackeray family residence Matoshree at 4 pm today. There, he will serve a defamation notice on Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray.
The move follows a social media post shared by Aaditya Thackeray on September 16, in which he said he did not know Disha Salian at all. Citing this post, Satish Salian has filed a defamation claim against Aaditya Thackeray and Anil Deshmukh. Satish Salian says the allegations Aaditya Thackeray made regarding Disha Salian's death were actually aimed at targeting him. Salian claims he has complete evidence against Aaditya Thackeray. He says he is fighting for justice through legal means, but is being accused of political motives and personal enmity.
Anticipating possible obstruction or a threat to safety while serving the notice, Satish Salian has sought security from the Mumbai police for himself and his legal team. He also said he would continue his fight for a fair and legal probe into Disha Salian's death.
Satish Salian has also written a letter to the CBI. In the letter, he has demanded the immediate arrest of Aaditya Thackeray and Anil Deshmukh, along with former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh, dismissed police officer Sachin Vaze and others.
There are demands to add Section 409 of the Indian Penal Code in the Disha Salian death case, along with recording statements of eyewitnesses and other key witnesses regarding alleged rape, murder, destruction of evidence and suppression of the case. Against this backdrop, BJP state president Ravindra Chavan has issued key instructions to his party leaders. Ravindra Chavan has clearly instructed all party leaders and office-bearers not to speak on the issue at all without sufficient evidence in hand. Saying it is not right to speak publicly on any subject without evidence, he has cautioned leaders to exercise restraint.
