In Neral village of Karjat taluka, the water supply arrangement under administrator rule has become a health hazard for residents. For the past few days, dirty and contaminated water has been coming through the taps, angering villagers in Neral. Both the Nationalist Congress Party's Ajit Pawar faction and the Shiv Sena's Shinde faction have raised the issue.

In the middle of the Ganeshotsav festival, the tap water in Neral village was found to be contaminated. Since last week, water mixed with mud has been supplied directly. Angered by this negligent handling, villagers carried the dirty water in their hands and staged a sharp protest in front of the administration, challenging officials to drink the water themselves. In the morning, NCP Neral office-bearers met administrator Sujit Dhangar and submitted a memorandum to him. NCP Ajit Pawar party's woman taluka president, Advocate Ranjana Dhule, and city president Chavan, while submitting the memorandum, warned that if the situation did not improve within four days, a bigger agitation would be launched.

The Shiv Sena Shinde faction also raided the Neral gram panchayat to take up the grievances of people troubled by the contaminated and dirty water. The party expressed anger that despite lakhs of rupees shown as spent on TCL required to purify water and on equipment purchased for water treatment, the water being supplied was actually dirty. Due to the contaminated water, young children and elderly people are falling ill. Villagers alleged that despite paying taxes regularly, their health was being put at risk, and they took the administration to task over this. During this, gram panchayat officer Arun Karle and administrator Sujit Dhangar assured that clean water supply would begin from the next day.

On this occasion, Vishal Salunke, Suresh Rane and Vedika Salunke, along with Sandeep Utekar and Sandesh Lad of the Shiv Sena Thackeray faction, also demanded answers from the administration over the dirty and contaminated water.
